With roots dating back to 1895, Robert Clergerie founded his namesake Paris shoemaking house in 1981. Drawing on a long tradition of craftsmanship, Clergerie struck a chord with modern women, blending this heritage with an audacity and relevance that is decidedly forward looking and confident. In 2011, the brand's creative direction was passed on to Roland Mouret, who worked closely with Clergerie in the 1980's and continues to strike a fine balance between excellence, sensuality and innovation.
